The National LGBTQ Task Force Gala – Miami returns to the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Once again, the evening will begin a red-carpet entrance, a cocktail reception, and a silent auction featuring the very best art, jewelry, fashion accessories, home furnishings, vacation packages and more. As the evening progresses the crowd moves into the glamorous grand ballroom where appetizers and dinner are served before a state of the movement address by the Executive Director of the Task Force. Awards are presented to local and national honorees who have positively impacted the lives of LGBTQ people. The evening wraps up with live entertainment over desert, and an after-party featuring a local DJ.
No matter how you choose to get involved and show your support, the Task Force staff, board, and volunteer event committee appreciate you!
The National LGBTQ Task Force Gala – Miami is an important South Florida tradition. It allows the LGBTQ community and its supporters to come together and celebrate, honor heroes of the movement, and raise money the community on both the local and national levels. The event is produced by, and in support of, the National LGBTQ Task Force. We are committed to forward-thinking progressive change, both locally and nationally. The Task Force also donates a significant portion of the proceeds raised at the Gala and it’s sister event, Winter Party Festival, to like-minded community advocacy groups in South Florida, through a grant-making process administered by the LGBTQ Community Fund of The Miami Foundation. In 2019, the Task Force donated $206,000 to the Miami Foundation, for a total of more than $3.1 million given back since 2005. That money has supported over 80 nonprofit organizations in South Florida, and played an essential role in empowering and elevating the community. None of this would be possible without your support. Thank you!
